Things to do at LTLUG

Postby erroneus » Mon Jun 30, 2008 4:14 pm

I think gaming is by far the most common "fall-back" activity. Obviously, this is a "laptop only" scenario... I mean how practical is it to set up a desktop there for 1 to 1.5 hours?

Other things we can do there is address a particular question or concern on a particular machine. 1 to 2 hours for a single problem isn't so bad to do within those constraints.

Most of all, we can eat the health-food they serve there and just hang out.

But when it comes to gaming, I have a USB powered 10/100 ethernet switch (it has been rigged to draw power from a USB port instead of a wall outlet... very handy) to link multiple machines together. If someone has a broadband card, we can even share internet to some degree.

Heath food? Are you on a diet of Heath bars now? That'll do wonders for your (cough! cough!) "girlish figure"...

Here ya go...........

For all who don't know, or haven't read about LTLUG in the general forum.....

The LTLUG meets at Griff's in River Oaks on Fridays at 11:30. We try to have something to talk about, but it's usually just general discussion about Linux and technology. We have even played a quick round of Quake, in between bites of burgers.

All are welcome, and I hope to see you there.

LinuxNative,

Just a suggestion - How about posting a "sticky note" with that information? That way it should always be at the top when someone enters this forum.

I'm still at work and won't be able to make it, this week. If anything can go wrong, it has. Ask me later...

EDIT: Well, I actually did make it, this week! Good thing no one was in a hurry to leave, too. :)

I'm going to try to make it, today. Again, I may run a little late as I try to time things in such a way so that I don't have to drive back to work. :)
