FAQ: LTLUG

Postby LinuxNative » Mon Jun 30, 2008 7:54 am

For all who don't know, or haven't read about LTLUG in the general forum..... (LTLUG stands for Lunch Time Linux Users Group - Ed.)

The LTLUG meets at Griff's in River Oaks on Fridays at 11:30. We try to have something to talk about, but it's usually just general discussion about Linux and technology. We have even played a quick round of Quake, in between bites of burgers.

All are welcome, and I hope to see you there.

I take it there will not be a meeting of the LTLUG, this Friday (considering it is July 4th)?

I'll put it another way - I'm not going to be there, this Friday! ;)

I'm not going to be able to make it, today. I have some stuff to finish up with our PBX deployment and it looks like Keller, Texas, is in my future for this afternoon. Maybe next week?

See you guys Saturday, though!... :)

Ha! You better make it three burgers since I didn't make it last week! :D

Which brings up the question: Where were you guys the Friday before Labour Day (29 August)?? Griff's had a truckload of tater tots waiting for Daniel. But, you guys were no-shows! Oh, the shame!

You know what I was doing. ;) I'm not sure what happened to Daniel or Brian. I guess I'm the glue that holds the LTLUG together. I am the wind beneath the wings of LTLUG.... well....I'm wind anyway.

I plan on being there this Friday.

As for my not making it Friday before last, we were having server issues at the office, and I was the only IT guy in town, so I couldn't get out of the office. Not sure why Rusty says he doesn't know where I was, cuz I was on the phone with him about it several times that day.

I can neither confirm nor deny your whereabouts on that Friday. I'm sworn to secrecy.

Hey Gang,

What's up? I'm a UNIX (Solaris/Linux) Admin.
This is my 1st post as I'm a newbie.

I ran into David the other day and he had
on his Linux shirt, so I asked him about it.
Nice chatting with you David.

I'm from Ft. Worth and when I read about
the LTLUG, I had a laugh. I've eaten at
the Griffs for years. Especailly when I was
younger. My parents moved back to R.O.
some time back, so, I've been to Griffs
alot over the past several years.

So, I would be interested in having a Giant Double
Cheesburger and talking some Linux stuff.
(( When is the next meeting??? ))

I was also laid off by EDS last July, after almost 18 years.

So, "IF" anyone out there knows of any descent employers
looking for a Unix Admin, please let me know.

Have a great day!

I look forward to chatting/emailing and possibly meeting
some folks on this list, I need to extend my network.

Take Care,

PeaceMaker ( Derrell / dwp8822@gmail.com )

Welcome!

Well, I'm planning on making it, today, for the first time this year! ;) Actually, it's been quite a while. I may have a line on an AIX admin position (assuming it's still open). I heard about it, last week.

I believe everyone tries to meet about 11:30-11:45am at the Griff's in River Oaks (just so no one heads out to the one on Lancaster or Belknap!).
