Hi I was thinking of doing presentations on some of these topics.

piercing firewalls with iodine dns tunneling and other tricks
using runit to run and supervise daemon processes
monitoring network traffic with wireshark and other tools
installing, configuring and customizing drupal

Which topic(s) sounds most interesting to you guys and gals?

David,

Personally, my interest lies with Wireshark and Drupal. So, I'd love to see presentations regarding those products - especially Drupal. I haven't really heard of the other two (will look into them, though).

Did you have a time-frame for when you wanted to do these? I had planned on doing something with the 8-bit computer emulation (Atari, Commodore, etc.) for next month.

I don't mind bumping myself if you would like to do a presentation for July! ;)

I could do a wireshark presentation on July 10.

It will be an intro to using wireshark, nmap, and kismet to monitor and explore networks.

Sounds like a very good presentation. I would be very interested in that. I think most of us would.

David,

I will put you down for July 10th. Would please send me a short blurb about your presentation? Just send me a private message with a little more detail over what you posted here.

Thanks!

BLURB<<EOB

Exploring Network Traffic with Open Source tools.

What's happening on this network? With several open source tools that sniff or probe the network we can answer this question. In this presentation we will use wireshark and other packet sniffing tools to examine packets. Also we will actively discover and probe network hosts with nmap.

EOB

I intend to sniff the wifi that we are all connected to, so if anyone wants to follow along during the presentation they can install wireshark, dsniff, and iftop
