All,

I'm starting this thread so we have a place to post what we discussed at Saturday's meeting for future meeting topics. None of this is in any particular order.

Some of the things I can remember being suggested were:

Old computer emulation (Commodore, Atari, Mac, etc.)
How to go about installing Gentoo
Linux-based sound/music/video creation and editing
Troubleshooting printer problems under CUPS
Linux-based telephony (Asterisk - specifically using PBX In A Flash)

Alright, now let's fill in some of the blanks here... Please add to this list and we'll see if we can come up with an agenda for the remainder of the year. Thanks!

The MIDI interface that I mentioned at Saturday's meeting is the Midiman M-Audio Uno and it looks like this:

You can find these at Fry's Electronics for around $40.00. It works just fine under Linux and Rosegarden.

Some I remember from last saturday, and some I am just thinking of now.
  • Security threats and countermeasures - this can be a collaborative presentation
  • Drupal overview - basic config, intro to architecture, hello world module
  • Distro shootout - another collaborative presentation.
  • Data Visualization with free tools - gnuplot, rrdtool, OO.org Calc
  • Using the wireshark packet sniffer
