So the next meeting...Feb 14th...uh huh. Anyway...

Randy, we talked about doing a movie (Monty Python's Holy Grail) after the meeting. You still up for it? Anyone else?

I know I lucked out because my wife is hanging out with her friends that afternoon anyway so I am not getting roped in until that night. :-)
Still, not sure about how this day will mess with other members...

Also, what is the topic of the next meeting? I know it was discussed last meeting but did we ever decide what/who it would be?

Just curious....

We're still trying to determine what the next meeting topic will be. I think we're going to push the movie idea out to the "cookout" later in the year.

I"ll have it posted as soon as I know what we're going to be doing, next month. Suggestions? Volunteers? (Tap! Tap!) Is this thing on?

Old School text-adventure gaming?

Zork, etc...

I think I still have a few of these on floppy somewhere.

We could always troubleshoot / update the VFW's wireless so its a bit more reliable.

we could upgrade the firmware on the VFW's linksys and make homemade antennas to direct and get more signal into our meeting room.

I use a WRT54GL with tomato firmware and never have to reboot it.

http://freeantennas.com has the antennas.

I could bring in some extra linksys device to flash. I also have at least 6 if not a dozen pringles cans. Plus a mix of other sizes. We could bring tape, aluminum foil, card board, and make a bunch or antenna's.

GREAT! I downloaded the angle bracket to make the easier ones. the parabolic seems to be a bit hard to get together (i have tried) and we can show others how to turn that $60 router into a $600 one with open source!

I have some cardstock so I will be printing out some of the templates.

The antennas will work on any router that has a YAGI antenna (like old cell phones)

I am also trying to come up with some other things to do but this may be alright. Anybody else have any other ideas?
